THE BEST THING ABOUT BLOGGING

Links of london girls
Nearly 5 years ago, I went on to blogger.com and made myself a blog. I'd been obsessed with blogs for years - Dizzy Brunette (Corrie, who I love), A Little Obsessed (Sabrina, again, who is a good friend of mine now and in this post), Laura from Buy now Blog later (who follows me on Instagram, no YOU'RE fangirling) and of course, Zoella, were just a few of my favourites - and one day nearly 5 years ago, I finally just plucked up the courage to start my own. I got my Mum to take a photo of me in the garden (lol that I ever thought that looked ok), I wrote a whole blog post on a nail polish remover... I basically just wrote whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and I adored every single second of it.

Over the next 5 years, a hobby very slowly turned into my job, and my job turned into something that totally took over my life and allowed me to travel, and meet new people daily and work with brands I'd been obsessed with my whole life and basically live a lifestyle that I could never have dreamed of. But through those years, and through all of the highlights - and there's been a bloody lot, walking the red carpet at Cannes (I know), being the face of VO5 last year (nope, no idea how that happened either) and currently having my face plastered all over London on Santander Cycles ads (lol, just lol) I'm looking at you - the best thing for me that has come from this crazy blogging journey is by far the friends that I've made.

The people that get it, the ones that understand your stresses like no other and can celebrate your achievements because they understand exactly how special they are. Blogging has brought so much to my life but my friends are without fail the best part of it all.

I'm not sure when I turned into such an old, cheesy sop, but I currently feel like a mix of Oprah and Gandhi and gal pal ain't complaining.

Jess, Meg and Sabrina - the three absolute babe magnets in this post - are three of my favourite people in the industry. I have travelled with them, I have laughed with them, I have cried with them (looking at you Jess) and I've made so many memories over the last few years with them that when the opportunity came up for us all to work on Links of London's newest campaign, I absolutely jumped at the chance. It's funny because it actually came about after the brand saw a photo of the four of us together at Babington House having a slumber party. We were the group that went back earlier and ordered a ginger tea to the room and stayed up to 2am talking about life and that's when I thought, these are my kinda girls.

So, Links of London is an iconic international jewellery brand that truly captures the heart, spirit, wit and general amazingness of London. With beautiful jewellery collections, watches, and stunning gifts - I'm thinking "Dear me, Love me" kinda gifts. You with me? - there really is something for everyone. I had no idea until recently but the 3 rings on the Links of London logo represents Love, London and life, and you only have to go onto my Instagram to know that that pretty much sums me up completely (I mean, love for life of course, because my actual love life is non-existent [insert cry laughter/"don't pity me I know it's tragic" emojis here])

Sterling Silver & 18kt Yellow Gold Vermeil Globe Charm
The babe of a bracelet we're all wearing in this post is the Links of London Sweetie Sterling silver charm bracelet, which is personally my favourite of the bunch. It's chic, sophisticated, classic with a modern twist and with the option to make it totally personal to you by adding your own charms. There were so many charms to choose from (yes I spent at least an hour trying to decide, no judgement here please) before I finally settled on the stunning Sterling silver and 18kt yellow Gold and silver globe charm. Not only does it look beautiful, but as someone who travels a lot and pretty much has wanderlust as a middle name, a globe has always been a little bit special to me. I also loved that it related to my friendship with the girls as we've been so lucky to travel around the world together at different points in our career... I sometimes forget that a lot of people aren't that lucky. A lot of people don't love their jobs, they don't meet people they adore and get to hang out with them and work together for a living, they don't get to travel all the time... they don't get to be excited and passionate and forever seeking ways to improve and grow (as a blogger and a person).

So yeah, as much as you're probably like "lol babes it's a charm stop being so drippy" something that holds a bit of meaning to me is something I've always looked for in jewellery. I also obviously love the fact that when I think of Links, I think of London, and again... anyway following away at @ellenextdoor would have seen a consistent barrage of London now since time began ;)

So I've fangirled enough about our so damn cute bracelets now and how much I love the brand and everything they stand for. I've rambled about how amazing my friends are and how lucky I am, but I guess this post was just a really lovely opportunity to be like, A) LOOK AT THESE GIRLS HOW AMAZING ARE THEY? and B) express a little thank you to everyone that reads and follows along. Because without you, I wouldn't be doing this job. And without this job, I wouldn't have some of my best friends.

I'd love to know what your favourite Links of London piece is, are you a Sweetie bracelet kinda gal? And if you're a blogger too, what's your favourite thing about blogging? I always love hearing your thoughts! :)

As always, thanks so much for reading!

xx
