5 LITTLE TWISTS TO ADD TO YOUR DAY FOR MAXIMUM PRODUCTIVITY

As much as people love to think that bloggers just swan around at events/meetings, eating fancy food and doing all of those fabulous darrhhling things, the truth is, we actually work hard. Like, seriously, seriously hard. I've cut back on nearly all events and lots of meetings so I can prioritise making the best content I can and this means that I spend the vast majority of my time at my desk.

(Most often with endless mugs of coffee, peanut butter and some sort of chocolate bar #GalaxyOverDairyMilkAllDayLong).

But here's the thing, sitting in one place all day - desk workers, you'll know this - can completely squander your productivity levels and there's nothing worse than being tied to a desk when your mind is fast sleep, so here are some little twists that I add to my day to make sure that I reach maximum productivity.

And don't get to the end of the day with 2 things ticked off of my to do list and 2934838 things added.

Get outside
I know, I know, it sounds like an excuse to just get away from your desk and "lol, bye work" but walking away from your working area and getting out into the fresh air is the best way to clear your head and recharge your batteries, ready to girl boss the rest of your day. Maybe it's those infamous endorphins but despite being exercise's number 1 hater, going for a stroll is something I always look forward to, and if I have a babe'in, sassy new drink to join me on my stroll, all the better ;)

A Starbucks Caffè Americano with milk break
Going out for coffee is one of my favourite things to do - probably because coffee and caffeine run through my veins - but sometimes there isn't always time to hunt down your local Starbucks to chill out with your favourite drink (my new house is far too far from a Starbucks and I'm almost considering moving out because of it. Lols, you think I'm joking but I'm not definitely not).

The perfect antidote to the #firstworldproblem that is not being able to get out for coffee is Starbucks' brand new addition to their number 1 bestselling Chilled Classics range, the Caffè Americano with milk. A deliciously chilled and uplifting blend of Starbucks 100% certified Arabica Espresso Roast coffee and creamy milk makes for the most perfect pick me up to your day. It honestly just tastes so, so delicious (but then again, it's Starbucks so that's not a huge surprise #number1starbucksfangirl). Basically, whether you're stressed at work and need a little twist to help boost productivity, or you're off for a walk and need a tasty companion, or you just fancy a little treat... the Caffè Americano with milk is your new - and ridiculously tasty - best friend forever [insert all of the coffee and heart eye'd emoji's here]. Plus they're pretty photogenic and make for the perfect Instagram prop so you really can't go wrong ;)

Available at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Waitrose, WHSmith, Boots etc. stock up now and thank me later!

Yoga
Before you all christen me a tree hugging hippie that expects you to whack out a yoga mat in the middle of the office, don't worry, I'm not quite there yet. But I do absolutely adore yoga to get your zen on and be extra, extra chilled out. It takes you away from your daily life and let's you - are you ready for the cheesiest phrase in existence? - "be at one with yourself". It may be that you take your mat to somewhere quiet on your lunch break, or it may be something you use to start your day with, but this little twist is one that will absolutely bust stress levels and get you ticking off your to do list faster than a blogger with their camera whilst walking past the Liberty flower stall.

Call a friend
In this day and age - yes, I just made myself sound 70 years old, I'm well aware - actually picking up the phone and calling someone is incredibly rare. I am so guilty of keeping in touch with people via an Instagram like or a whatsapp message but recently I've started to call people (I know, groundbreaking) and I can't tell you what a difference it's made. Just having a good ole natter and a good ole laugh, most likely putting the world to rights (and discussing the latest Grey's anatomy episode) immediately puts the biggest smile on my face, makes me feel a little rested and ultimately, ready to get back on with my day.

Watch a Cat or Dog meme or youtube video
And the award for the most basic person of all time goes to... I am so aware that this probably sounds like the least productive thing to do but try watching a silly video of an oh my god too damn cute cat and not be ridiculously happy and less stressed afterwards. They say it's the little things in life after all, right? The best thing about this is it takes the smallest amount of time but can make such a big difference. Don't judge me, cute little animals make me happy, OK?

Treat yourself to Flowers
Flowers take the crown for the biggest blogger cliche - well, they put in a strong battle against marble and copper for it anyway - but there's a good reason for it. There's something about those little bunches of joy that just makes me happy. That just cheers me up, instantly puts a smile on my face and makes everything a little brighter. Now, unfortunately I don't have a Sugar daddy - vom -  that sends me constant packages of Bloom de fleur flower boxes so flowers aren't an everyday occurrence for me, but I think it makes it all the more special when you do go out and treat yourself. The perfect, sassy twist to your day that also helps you be productive (and makes your instagram feed look 10x prettier). *runs out in search of peonies and babies breath because #thatclichebloggerlife*

And that brings me to the end of this post. I really hope you enjoyed it, working from home and not being as productive as possible is something that I do struggle with so I hope these little twists can make a difference to your day as much as they do to mine. I'd love to know what your favourite things to do are when you need a little boost? Have you tried the Starbucks Americano with milk chilled classic yet? I always love hearing your thoughts.

As always, thanks so much for reading!

xx
