5 ESSENTIALS FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY

This post, essentially, is about a watch. Well, it's definitely about Christmas - which is so, so soon [insert ridiculously excited emoji here] - and it's definitely about Christmas party essentials, but mostly, it's about an incredibly special item which if I'm being totally honest, completely overshadows the rest.

It's by Cartier - yes you read that right, Cartier - and comes from the wonderful The Watch Gallery and as soon as I put it on, it genuinely made picking the rest of my Christmas outfit so easy because it really is such a statement, such a classic, that it does all the talking (and not in an over the top, gaudy "look at me way, you can't miss me" kinda way, but in an extremely subtle "I'm elegant and classy but you know I'm sassy" kinda way. And I'm all about that life).

So alongside said extremely luxurious and opulent watch is one of my absolute favourite looks of late which will be so perfect for your Christmas party. Now, I totally appreciate that Christmas is the time that you can be all glitter and sequin ehhrthing and get away with it, but I personally always prefer to look a little more classic than disco ball chic and this is where this looks come into play.

Ok, so let's talk Cartier. Before I even go into why this watch is officially my new bff, I'll start by saying that I am well aware that it is an extremely luxurious, extravagant and therefore premium brand. These watches aren't something that you'll see me wear and just pop off to the shops to treat yoself to one casually. They're an investment. They're something that you buy (or maybe receive as a very, very special present) and treasure for the rest of your life. But the thing about Cartier is that you will treasure it forever, because their watches are not only completely stunning but they're so classic and timeless that they go with everything and will completely stand the test of time.

I'm wearing the Cartier Tank Anglaise in this post and as I mentioned previously, for me it completely makes the outfit. It's the piece that pulls everything together and makes my - usually chaotic - self feel put together. I adore the classic steel, and the rectangular shape makes it super subtle but sophisticated too. It's simple and elegant and just out and out beautiful and if it's wrong to be head over heels in love with a watch then pal, I don't even want to be right.

P.S stay tuned to the end for another Cartier classic that is still drop dead gorgeous but slightly more affordable and maybe something that you'll pop on your Christmas wish list (or subtly leave your laptop with it's picture on lying around in front of your boyf/mum/dad/anyone in the world that might want to treat you).

P.P.S excuse the goose bumps, Christmas party season = cold season = "can we just get back into bed with a hot chocolate now please?"

Then there's the dress. Now, as much as I love seeing all glitter and sequins everywhere on others, I do much prefer a subtle approach myself. This dress is from ASOS and as I soon as I saw it I knew that it had to be in my life. I knew that it could be dressed up easily or worn with flats or converse for a casual day. I knew it would look great with tights and ankle boots... basically it's one of those items that works out to 0.001p price per wear and that is always something I can get on board with.

Plus I love the flowy/boho shape and the lovehearts are perfect for festive season with all of that cheer and happiness.
The bag. Now I don't go out very often #grannyforlife, but when I do I am very minimal. Think cards, perfume, lipstick a concealer and job done. So this box clutch is one that always comes out to play because a) I get my sparkle/glitter fix and b) it's big enough to hold my essentials but is still pretty small and petite. A festive party essential that I have used over and over again and will absolutely continue to do so.
These shoes kinda make me feel like something from the Wizard of Oz and I am A-OK with that. For me they scream "Christmas is here" without being extra vajazzled and over the top. The midi ballerina style is very "in" at the moment - a phrase that I couldn't abhore any more - and on trend but I genuinely just love them because they look good with everything; dresses, midi skirts, cropped jeans. You name it, these Dorothy/Tin man shoes will always work and always make you look and feel sassy as hell!
The red lip. I have made it very clear before that rocking a bold lip is something that has taken me an extremely long time to do, but come on gal pals, it's Christmas!!! - I mean, it is in 5 weekends time but who's counting? - Nothing says Christmas party like a red lip and this Laura Mercier leading lady lip in Vivien is my current go to. Extremely moisturising, very longwearing and glossy enough to give that extra little slice of glamour.

So during my previous rave/fangirl/complete and utter declaration of love for the Cartier tank anglaise watch, I mentioned that I had a slightly more affordable classic for you and here it is, the gorgeous Cartier tank solo. I have always been a huge fan of watches with black leather straps because there's just something so classy and sophisticated about them, and that's exactly what this is. It's a little more grown up but just as timeless, just as luxurious and just as special. At around half of the price of the Tank Anglaise, this is the perfect option for those looking to invest in a beautiful Cartier but maybe don't have quite enough budget for the more premium options.

And that brings this Christmas party essentials post to an end, I have to say... I adored putting this post together. I genuinely felt like a princess in my Cartier watch and loved pulling together an outfit based all around it. I would absolutely love to know if you've ever checked out the stunning watches on The Watch Gallery before? What are you Christmas party essentials? I always love hearing your thoughts :)

As always, thanks so much for watching!

xx
