WHY I LOVE AUTUMN

When it comes to seasons, I am more fickle than my idealistic self trying to decide if Harvey Specter or Derek Shepherd will be my future husband to be (because obvs I'll be in a situation where this could 100%, totally be a possibility, like... of course that's going to happen). When Spring comes around I'm all "omg I love Spring, so fresh and pretty and daffodils everywhere and birdsong" and then Summer hits and the bikini and denim cut offs are out and I'm pretty much having the time of my life. Then Winter hits and it's the only season where I'm like "lol, girl bye" every single time but there's just something about Autumn. No matter what year it is, how great summer's been or how much I'm feeling the cold, when the leaves start turning that instagrammable shade of golden and rusty red I realise every year that Autumn is the one for me.

Alongside curry, wine, Harry Potter, chocolate, candles etc. etc. #perfectlife

Don't get me wrong, rain is to me what Voldermort is to muggles and genuinely has me searching for plane tickets to the Caribbean, but when it's not raining, and the air is crisp af and the leaves are golden and the rust/caramel/burgundy/teal/jewel tone shades start coming into every high street shop... I'm all about that life.

Trench coat - Jacques Vert / Bag - Jacques VertJeans - H&M Scarf - Zara (old, similar here) / Boots - River Island (last season, similar here)

Talking of jewel tones and caramel and all things cliche but oh so good so #sorrynotsorry, this outfit. It's something I cobbled together in 0.49348394 seconds which I'm sure is pretty evident, but actually, I blimmin loved the outcome.

No, you love looking like Autumn has thrown up all over you!

Obviously the star of the show is the pumpkin trench, an absolutely beautiful teal green colour - it's more green in real life rather than blue like the photos - is just such a standout piece. Trench coats are my wardrobe saviours because no matter how trampy casual you're dressed, they immediately smarten up the whole look. This one from Jacques vert is one of my absolute favourites - so much so that I also have it in black - because it fits beautifully, is so thick and well made and just looks chic. It just looks put together. It basically takes me from Shrek to Princess Fiona a slightly rough around the edges Olivia Palermo and I am A-OK with that.

The scarf is last season's Zara highlight - you know when every single person in the entire universe buys that one item from Zara, this was it - but I still absolutely love it because it screams Autumn and I'm all about that cliche life (BRB while I go to pick up some golden leaves for my flatlay). The boots are my old faithfuls which get compliments every single time I wear them and the bag is another beaut from Jacques Vert, very similar in style to the Chloe Drew but beautifully well made and so damn sturdy! It's just one of those classics that go with everything and will last forever.
Annnd that brings me to the end of this post. I am currently in a shit storm of stress trying to tackle deadlines/life before I leave for Dubai in 9 days - gulp/puke/severe nervous nausea at the thought - and have so much to do that I am switching between laughing and crying like a crazy lady (hence lack of snapchats/posts etc.) So this little pumpkin patch date was actually just what I needed, some time out from work - although lol, obvs took photos for a post because I have no life/ability to switch off - to chill, take in some countryside and just pretend that my to do list of 4939348 things doesn't exist.

On a less depressing tone, am I the only one so frickin obsessed with pumpkins and Autumn time? I'd love to know what your favourite things are about Autumn, and what's your favourite season? Surely I'm not the only slightly embarrassing Autumn fangirl out there? ;)

As always, thanks so much for reading!
