So, if you read my last post - or follow me on Instagram/Snapchat where I snapped the entire thing (theellenextdoor) - you'll know that I spent a pretty incredible 3 days in Paris last weekend. You'll also know that I finally (insert hallelujah emoji here) realised the importance of taking a break, resting and getting inspired again.
So when I was planning my Paris getaway, alongside the resting, recuperating, sightseeing and gobbling of every bit of incredible food I could get my hands on; high up on my priority list was staying in a place that felt just as homely as it did luxurious, which is where The Westin Paris, Vendome comes in. I also needed somewhere in a good location as a Paris newbie and oh my goodness, the location was just perfection.
The Westin was our home for 3 days and I'm not sure I've ever felt more like a princess in my life, and in case you're wondering why that might be, maybe I should just let you take a little glance...
Even before I entered the hotel my breath was completely taken away by the whole grandeur of the Westin. It's absolutely huge, in short, with the most stunning entrance that just exudes luxury. And that pretty much continues throughout every inch of the hotel. From the stunning chandeliers, marble floors, velvet sofas and mosaic ceilings, to the centre of the ground floor which mimics an outside pool/garden area that really was prettier than anything I've seen (yep, even Harvey Specter), they really do have everything covered.
Now, the rooms are lovely, they really are, but nothing quite beats the view from our balcony which I actually shed a little happy tear over - what is it about getting older than means you even end up crying over a cornflake advert? - because it was just so beautiful! Facing out over the Tuileries with a picture perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and the big wheel - 100% not technical terms - my phone memory officially hates me for taking at least 50 photo's of every angle.
It really was just the perfect spot for a coffee, chat or glass (ahem, bottle) of wine that - thank you so much Westin - was so kindly left in the room for us!

The room itself was really lovely. Having stayed at the Westin Grand Central, I'd already admired the chic but comfortable decor, but there's just something about having that eiffel tower view that makes the room feel so special that you almost don't want to leave it. With the Westin's own heavenly bed - which really is all kinds of heavenly - extremely comfy armchair and really handy/beautiful desk space (which I only used to search out gluten free spots rather than work, hurrah!) the room is comfy, cozy, practical, chic and homely... and to be totally honest, there's not much more I can ask for in a room.
Oh, apart from an amazing shower and beautiful marble sink which also happens to be a part of the Superior rooms too.
Now you're just showing off Westin.
I have mentioned this before but I think hotel breakfast buffets might be in my top 3 all time favourite things (alongside my favourite box sets and shopping sprees) and oh sweet Mary mother of Jesus, this bad boy did not disappoint. First of all, a huge thumbs up for the Westin for having a gluten free corner with gluten free bread rolls, rice cakes, muesli (and something else which I can't quite remember). It is such a novelty for us coeliacs to have our own corner so this pleased me probably more than it should. Secondly, I couldn't have been more impressed with the staff who spoke me through what I could and couldn't have and I successfully managed 4 rounds of the buffet each morning and it was completely safe and gluten free. Oh, and absolutely delicious. Like, seriously delicious!
Plus, the restaurant is beyond stunning. With dark purple velvet furniture, the whole restaurant was quite dark and ambient which I absolutely adored! Unfortunately we never made it to the restaurant for lunch or dinner - this is what happens when you're a blogger and get recommended at least 20 restaurants for a 3 day trip - but I did actually overhear a fellow Westin lodger rave about their dinner, so that's enough for me :)
On the note of food consumption, it seems like a pretty appropriate time to mention that they also have a pretty fab gym... which I didn't visit LOLs (as well as a spa which by some miracle I couldn't squeeze in either, next time!)
Overall - in other words, I've fangirled for far too long and need to wrap this up - if you're looking for a place to stay in Paris, I would 100% whole heartedly recommend the Westin Paris in Vendome for not only being extremely luxurious and cosy, but also for having a fabulous breakfast as well as being in the most perfect location (with the Louvre, Tuileries, Angelina, Chanel and Dior etc. being a stone's throw away).
I would love to know if you have any Paris recommendations for next time I return? Or if you've ever stayed in the Westin before? I always love hearing your thoughts :)
As always, thanks so much for reading!
xx
I cannot believe how amazing that view is! This looks amazing. I used to not care about where I stayed because I'd be out exploring all the time but as I've got a bit older (sob) I massively appreciate a good hotel!
