THOUGHTS ON THE FLATFORM

Flatforms. Now, there is a word that terrifies me alongside superfood, exercise and kale. If you'd have told me that I would have a) worn and b) actually liked a pair of flatforms a few months ago, I'd have never believed you. But fast forward to a time when I actually purchased my first pair of "fashionable trainers" last week, and regularly pick more casual shoes over my heels, and the flatform seems a little less daunting.

Now don't get me wrong, they are definitely love or hate and I do have to think about what I pair them with so that I don't look like a clown/straight up twat, but I think the outcome is worth it (although as always, you'll be the judge of that, please be kind... [insert laughter/"no seriously, I'm a fragile flower, please don't slate my look" emoji here, LOL]).

Said flatforms, with a side of leather and long loved outerwear....

As always, my faux leather trousers came out to play - as they do at least 2-3 times per week because I'm a basic bitch and not even sorry - and I absolutely love the combination of these and any trainer. Especially these flatforms as the two are the perfect mix of stylish and tomboy, chic. I then paired the look with an oversized shirt - another absolute fail safe item that never fails to look smart and "put together" - my completely ancient 2 year old New Look coat which I've kinda' rekindled my love for, and the following accessories which I'm beyond obsessed with...

A new arrival to my accessory wardrobe is the absolutely stunning Aspinal of London large essential pouch which gives me all the heart eye'd emoji's in the world every single time I look at it. A beautiful maroon, shiny (which makes it pretty darn hard to capture just how lovely it is) leather pouch that really has become an essential. For a night out dinner with the girls or quick dash into town, or, a makeup bag/essentials wallet to slot inside your handbag, this beauty is an absolute must have. BRB, just stalking the entire Aspinal website and crying into my beans on (gluten free) toast because I want everything.

My final accessory is what this whole look is pretty much based around, the flatform. Said flatforms come courtesy of Kurt Geiger - which FYI, have the most frickin, amazing, incredible, beautiful, stunning spring collection that you've ever seen - and I can say that I am totally on the love side of the love/hate barometer. Yes, they're pretty statement and yes, they're not girly, "pretty", or delicate, but I just think they're cool. In a not too try hard kinda cool way. Beautifully well made and ahead of the times (I really sense a resurgence in the flatform) Kurt Geiger have totally pulled it out the bag with the Ladbrook Flatform. What I also love is that from above, they totally just look like a really chic trainer too which definitely makes them more wearable. They have the Ladbrook in a couple of colours but as I am the queen of the navy obsession at the moment, these were first on my list!

So that brings my "hey guys, don't think I'm crazy but flatforms are officially bae" post to an end. I really enjoyed pulling this outfit together, I think it's because it definitely brings out my more tomboy/casual side which let's be honest, is not only much more comfortable, but also a little more cool. (At least it would be if the person wearing it wasn't such a twat!).

I'd love to know your thoughts on the flatform, are they something you'd wear or would you never be seen dead in them? ;) I'd love to hear your thoughts!

As always, thanks so much for reading!

I've no doubts why you love these faux leather trousers and you wear them so often, because they're amazing and look like must-have in every wardrobe ;) What about these shoes I think it could be great option for me, because I'm short and these comfy flatforms can add some centimeters to my height ;)

  10. I love flatforms, purely because they make my 5'3 (and a half) self a tiny bit taller, and make me feel more like a gazelle, and less like a Hobbit! Those trousers are bae too tbh. The colour of that pouch is to die for! BEAUT.

Girl, these are literally my exact thoughts. I abhorred them until recently when my flats felt toooooo flat (weird right). I was feeling like garbage, and wanted to feel taller than I was yet the illness prevent me from wearing heel. Thus began the flatform love!
