THE LITTLE THINGS

There is something about getting older - BRB while I cry into my lavender spritzed pillow because I'm pretty much a pensioner - that makes you appreciate the little things in life. I have never been one for big gestures anyway, I don't do nights out or being whisked away (although if you fancy taking me to New York tomorrow, I'm yours) and I generally would take a curry and Harry Potter night over pretty much everything in existence. And it's only as I've got older and started to feel a bit more comfortable in myself that I've realised that that's absolutely OK

As much as I'm in the mood for a little personal word vomit - maybe that'll come pretty soon - I think I'll save that for another time as despite me starting off this post impersonating a hippie, tree hugging girl that belongs in LA - no offence to any LA residents, love ya really - it's actually just a post to tell you about the little things I've been loving; River Walks, Sage green shirts softer than a babies bum (only me that feels like a slight perve using that phrase?) and beautiful pieces of jewellery which are both stunning and delicate but also very wearable.

So how about we take a little stroll to tower bridge and I bore you to death talk you through a few of my favourite things*? Sounds like a plan, you say? OK, let's do it...

*P.S if you can say favourite things without singing the sound of music soundtrack, you're a better person than I am. Just saying!

So before I start fangirling over my new favourite jewellery brand, I would like to put out a disclaimer over the fact that it was absolutely freezing cold when I shot this, so if we could pretend the goosebumps are an additional accessory, that would be fabulous...

So, said new favourite Jewellery brand is called Jewellery box. You may or may not have heard about them before - I was originally introduced to them a while back now through an event - but they are a brand that I was immediately impressed by. From the stunning packaging (which unfortunately I didn't bring on my scenic walk but think brown wrapping paper, cute string and pinterest worthy mini pegs) to the extremely delicate but very wearable pieces that I personally find always receive a compliment, I just genuinely couldn't be more impressed and may or may not* be on the website eyeing up my next piece right now. Oh and did I mention that they are ridiculously affordable with some of these pieces being just £6? Yep, pretty incredible. And to top it all off, the lovely guys from Jewellery box have given you lovely lot 20% of with the code Ellie20. Go get spendy, you're welcome ;)

*Let's be real, there's no may or may not about it, I definitely am! [insert sassy hand/"sorrynotsorry" emoji here].

Starting off with my personal favourite, the Abella Bee Beautiful bangle which is too.damn.cute.for.words! I absolutely love how stunningly delicate this bangle is with the gorgeous Gold bee charm - which I just think is so unique and special - and with the addition of the "Bee Beautiful" engraving, this really is the perfect pretty but empowering gift that I couldn't recommend enough (and when I say gift, I obviously mean for yourself. You know, treat yo'self and all that).

Then we have the infinity love ring and bracelet. I have always been a huge fan of anything infinity love-based (don't pretend you didn't see Lauren Conrad's infinity love ring on the hills and immediately need one in your life. Ohhh 2006, the good old days) so I had to have the ring and bracelet in my life. Both are incredibly dainty and are those kinda pieces that are so wearable and pretty but they won't distract from any other statement pieces you're wearing. I personally haven't taken either off since receiving them and don't plan on doing so any time soon.

Same goes for the plain adjustable ring, a piece that's so simple but actually adds that little somethin' somethin' to my stacking ring wardrobe. Another piece that's really well made, looks beautiful and is an easy way to add a little bling without looking like Ali G.

Finally we have the Arrow Necklace which is *insert Cheryl Cole from the early days of X-Factor vibes* Right up my street! I love the arrow design and I adore the length of this necklace too. The chain is extremely delicate - which I love the look of but of course, does mean you have to be slightly more careful - and I just generally love it as much as I love every other piece.

Which you can probably tell by now, is a hell of a lot.

Sorrynotsorry.
So now I've fangirled over my jewellery, it's time to go a little crazy for a shirt that I am absolutely obsessed with. It's from a brand called Splendid, stocked on Net a porter, and quite frankly it is the softest, most beautifully well made shirt I own. Cut from lightweight voile, I can only describe how soft this is as buttery smooth because it really is so gorgeous. I adore the colour too, a "not quite khaki" sage green makes it perfect for all seasons as it's a little softer and goes with absolutely everything. The love is real guys, as will be the lack of my bank balance after I go on a spend up for all of the splendid pieces immediately after finishing this post.

Now that my jewellery/shirt raves are over, my final little thing was just the walk itself. When you work for yourself, it is so incredibly easy to spend every second of every day working because surely there's always more that you can be doing. And there is. But there's also a lot of living you can be doing too and I think this year has - thankfully - been the year that I've finally practiced what I preached and learnt that taking an hour or two out to walk, get inspired (and grab a coffee and cake, obvs) is much more productive to your wellbeing and ultimately, everything you do in life. So expect more instagram posts from my London river walks, and hopefully *insert fingers crossed emoji here* a more chilled out Elle.

I would love to know what you make of my gorgeous Jewellery Box pieces? Have you ever heard of/purchased anything from the brand before? What are your favourite pieces? I always love to hear your thoughts :)

As always, thanks so much for reading!

xx
