Downtime, a word that I almost had to look up in the dictionary because it hasn't been used/or practiced in my vicinity in a seriously long time. I've spoken a lot about wanting - and to be honest, desperately needing - some downtime for months now and I feel like it's something that I might finally be managing to rediscover again.
Ironically, as this post goes up I will be having a breakdown running around like a crazy lady at London Fashion week - yeah, for all of those who think you're jealous, wait until you see my blisters, under eye circles and general beat self by the end of it - however rewind one week, and I had finally managed to schedule in some down time (for a whopping half a day, but that's better than nada, right?) and of course, alongside down time, comes the perfect downtime outfit. Something chic enough for the obligatory twenty Starbucks coffee runs, but something comfortable enough to be able to totally Netflix and chill at home.
Enter the Downtime outfit...
Despite not feeling - well, let's be honest, being - cool enough to pull off the whole "yeah I just woke up like this and am a sporty/tom boy icon, what you saying?" vibe, I do absolutely adore this entire look. The knitted jumper has become my staple piece because not only is it big and baggy and ridiculously cosy, but it also works perfectly well with jeans and boots too.
The cargo pants have officially replaced my pyjamas in the "Oh I wish I could wear you to meetings/events/general smart life things" stakes because they are just so god damn comfortable. The stunningly soft cotton mixed with the cool combat/laidback vibe, not to mention the beautiful dusky pink colour makes these the perfect comfortable but "acceptable to wear outside" joggers that I am just a little bit obsessed with!
Whilst I am all about coffee runs and long walks for downtime days, I am even more about the Netflix, coffee and chill kinda downtime [insert hands up/hallelujah emoji here]. The beautiful Next Jumper and Cargo pants are the perfect outfit combo for said heaven on earth activity as they are so ridiculously comfortable but also make you feel a little more put together (i.e not so much of a slob!).
Shop the look
So that's the end of my "Hey Next, your Downtime clothes are just bloomin awesome and can I have the whole range please?" post. I could ramble on for another 3 hours about how comfortable, cosy and bloody wonderful these items are, but I am manically rushing home for some evening downtime Michael Schofield perving Prison Break sessions before LFW Day 2 tomorrow!
I would love to know what your favourite downtime look is? Have you checked out Next recently? I always love hearing your thoughts :)
