WEEKEND RITUALS

I think it's probably quite clear from myself - and many other full time bloggers - that weekends don't really exist. With a creative mind that never stops bloody whirling with ideas, to-do lists that never end because once one thing's ticked off, another is added... and social media being a huge part of our jobs which means weekends are still filled with latte art Insta snaps and shameless blog post/youtube video promotions; a weekend more often than not, isn't really a thing.

One thing that I am attempting to incorporate into 2016 however is a little time off. Even if it's half a day over the weekend or a few hours here or there, I realised that as much as I adore my job, we work to live, not live to work. So with the help of the most stunning package from Rituals consisting of their gorgeous Ayuveda range alongside some beautiful stationery pieces, I've finally found some little routines or "Rituals" shall we say - brands that make puns easy... [insert thumbs up emoji here] - that I can incorporate into my routine to make sure that my life is a little balanced, there's a little more downtime and ultimately, more time for living than working.
No weekend starts without some form of tea - let's be real, coffee comes immediately after, but we start with tea... - and I have been absolutely obsessed with Rituals Rose Wisdom tea. "Fruity teas" aren't usually my thing - English breakfast FTW because I'm common, please? - but ever since discovering the Wisdom tea, I am a total convert. There's something about it being so fruity but also a little herby that makes it feel a bit virtuous - just what you need after your saturday night chinese takeaway - but generally it just tastes so delicious. The perfect start to a fruity weekend*.

*Can we take a moment for potentially the worst line that I have ever used on this blog? [insert deeply ashamed emoji here].
Now, despite being a Candle fangirl, I usually just save them for in the evening, surrounding my relaxing bath and encompassing my entire bedroom. But on the weekends? Oh we crack out the candles from the moment we wake up and leave them killing the universe/annoying the green people on all day everyday. And when I say "we", I mean "I"... alongside a fiance that gives absolutely no shits whether I light candles or not!

On this weekends candle menu - totally a thing just so you know - is Rituals Indian Rose candle. I will try to keep this concise because I have a real, fangirl kinda love for Rituals candles, but Indian rose is just a stunning candle scented with almond oil and Indian rose. A really gorgeous uplifting scent that also looks perfect too. I mean, just check out the inspirational quote on the back #candlegoals.
Once you've slumped in bed with your tea, candle and current favourite series - Luther for me - for long enough, it's time for a nice energising bath or shower - baths please because they are generally just #lifegoals - and to pamper yourself with some beautiful products. I have been the biggest fan of Rituals shower gel ever since discovering the Happy Buddha scent - I still have one in my new house and the last remnants lying around in my family home's bathroom because they're that good - and the Yogi Flow scent is absolutely no different. A gorgeous gel that turns into a foam and just feels so moisturising and luxurious. A little goes such a long way and the scent really lingers on the the skin too. My absolute favourite.
Then I move onto the scrub which is just 50 shades of gorgeous. Not too oily, not too abrasive, just the perfect amount to sloth away dead skin - sexy times world, sexy times... - and leave your skin feeling silky soft and smooth. The Rituals Himalaya scrub is a winner for sure.
Washed and exfoliated, it's then time to moisturise the body. I am a self-confessed lazy oaf when it comes to moisturising my body - I mean, who even has time for that morning and night? - but the Rituals Honey touch moisturiser actually makes me look forward to moisturising (I know, what is this miracle?) It really is just a gorgeously luxurious, thick and creamy body cream that's so intensely moisturising but isn't sticky at all. It doesn't absorb extremely quickly but then I don't think you can expect a product so nourishing to do so, anyway. With the same stunning scent as the other products, it's the perfect way to finish off your bath routine and leaves you smelling and feeling so uplifted and ready for the day.
Finishing off my little bath routine with a spritz of the Chakra water - which is a beautiful bed and body mist - and I think this might be one of my absolute favourite products from the bunch. Not only does it smell so beautiful; extremely spa like and luxurious, for a very tiny moment I almost felt like I was back in the Dubai spa of dreams. But it's also really refreshing and perfect for spritzing over tired legs (and let's be honest, arms, back, entire body etc. etc.) I love spraying this over my bed at night too so I fall asleep dreaming of spa's (rather than murders and psychopaths courtesy of said Luther binges).
Another perfect touch to my little package was these lovely prints. I am such a sucker for a quote and I'd be a liar if I said I didn't actually squeal when I saw these - sorry not sorry - because we had literally just hung our new photo frames in our bedroom and need to fill them with all sorts of cheesiness of prints so these were perfect!
I had no idea that Rituals make notebooks but oh my goodness was I so bloomin pleasantly surprised when I found out that they did. Can we please just take a moment for how absolutely beautiful this is? This luxury satin and gold thread notebook was such a stand out piece for me and I couldn't love it anymore. Every notebook from Rituals contains an inspiring quote on the inside too and really just cheers me up/motivates me whenever I open it to write in it.

As a major planner - and someone who fails to switch off at the weekends #FullTimeBloggerProblems - one of my favourite weekend rituals is to sit and write a plan for the weekend ahead which is exactly what I do in the luxurious notebook; cup of tea and smooth legs in tow.

Netflix, candles, tea drinking and Chill....
So that brings my "Hey guys, I've decided to give myself a little break and pamper myself with all of these god damn beautiful products that you need in your life" post, to an end. I have to say, I am so enjoying working my butt off in the week just to experience a few hours off on the weekend. It is so incredibly needed and something that I'll definitely be making sure happens from now on.

What are your favourite Weekend Rituals/Traditions? I'd love to hear from you :)

As always, thanks so much for reading!
