Some products - and just brands as a whole really - just completely fall into my "love so much and use it every day" category that they kinda just get totally forgotten about when it comes to reviewing them. The unsung heroes of my makeup bag, shall we say, that work away day in, day out with no praise. [insert sad face/"yeah, she's a right bitch" emoji here].
So today I've decided to dedicate a whole post to a brand that not only have I absolutely adored - and relied on - for years, but have also released some incredible products of late that have gone straight into my list of holy grails. Said brand? Urban Decay.
I couldn't kick off my favourite products without mentioning the Urban Decay Naked palette. Easily my most used palette ever - bold statement but true - it just has the most incredibly beautiful mixture of golden/bronze shades, pinky/purples, some gorgeous neutral matte tones and stunning darker greys and petrol blues too. (P.S let's just take a moment to pat me on the back for managing to rival a 2 year old in the descriptive skills department there). The formulation of these shadows are absolutely second to none and I just always end up going back to Half baked, Sidecar, Sin and Toasted when I have no idea what to wear.
Sticking with palettes, a very new - but very welcome - addition to my palette collection is the stunningUrban Decay X Gwen Stefani palette. I received this at an Urban Decay dinner around Christmas time (hence my name written in lipstick as they were used as name place cards as such) and it's safe to say that I've been obsessed ever since! As Gwen is quite an "out there" (polite way of saying bat shit crazy) person, I was expecting quite an extravagant variety of colours. But my goodness was I pleasantly surprised. The entire top two rows of shadows are completely wearable neutrals that would work for any skin tone and eye colour. Yes, there are some slightly crazier cobalt blues and bubblegum pinks, but overall... an absolutely stunning palette that I would highly recommend for any makeup lover. I have Pop and Punk on my eyes in this look and it's safe to say that I've definitely found myself a new favourite combo!
A very new addition to my makeup collection - but a very welcome one indeed - is the Naked Basics palette. I have to be honest in that originally I had absolutely no interest in this as a girl that already owns the Naked and likes a good shimmer shadow. Ladies, I was totally totally wrong *starts eating (gluten free) humble pie*. The basics palette is made up of five basic matte shades and a slightly shimmery highlight. Within this palette, you really can do anything. With gorgeous shimmery and matte highlights, 2 perfect all over eye base colours and a dark matte brown and black that work beautifully as an outer corner smokey addition or, with the use of a liner brush, a natural, more subtle liner.
Now that we've got some of the most amazing palettes, it's time to make sure you've got the perfect eyeshadow base, and that comes in the form of the primer potions. UD - abbreviating because we're bessies, obvs - have a fab range of colours but my favourites have to be Sin (a gorgeous shimmery pink neutral), Minor Sin (a lovely, slightly more muted version) and Eden which is a beautiful flesh/skin-like colour. All three do the best job at helping your eyeshadow stick around all day long and apply seamlessly!
Lips. Now, it is quite evident to anyone that has met me in real life that I don't really need any help in the lip department #JayZLookalikeProblems but I absolutely adore the Urban Decay lip liners. They're extremely pigmented, have an amazing formulation, last forever and have such a fab range of colours. My absolute favourite is Naked which is the most stunning beige nude. Not too dark, not "concealer lips" like, just stunning. My other favourite lip product is without a doubt the Sheer revolution Naked lipstick. Now it doesn't actually match the naked liner as it's actually much more pink but it has quickly become my go to everyday colour. The formulation is so incredibly creamy but it's actually surprisingly long lasting. A beautiful pinky beige nude that I cannot stop wearing!
Urban decay Naked Flush blush palette in Native - There's nothing quite like a face palette that does everything and believe me ladies, this is exactly one of those do it all products. With the most gorgeous bronzer (natural, non-ashy and slightly warm without being orange in tone) a highlighter which is so finely milled so applies perfectly and gives the loveliest, natural highlight and lift to the face, and finally a beautiful pink blush that's extremely pretty, very pigmented and would work amazingly on so many skintones... this really does fit the "need a palette to do everything" bill.
And here's the final look wearing everything mentioned above - I know, that's a hella lot of makeup - but I really loved the final result.

So that brings me to the end of my little Urban Decay rave. I know that a lot of people love UD palettes but I think that their other products are a little underrated which makes me so sad because the quality is incredible. I for one know that I will be haulin' all of the liners, lipsticks and primers for the foreseeable future.
I would love to know which UD products are your favourite? Or if you've even tried much of the brand? I always love to hear your thoughts.
