BREAKFAST AT LONDON GRIND

London Grind Gluten free
I think we all know by now that I am a big coffee drinker. I think we all probably know by now that I'm also a big fan of interiors and Instagram. (If you didn't know that you can totally feel free to pop over and follow me at @ellenextdoor [insert wink/"no but seriously, if you want cute coffee snaps, flatlays and more coffee snaps I'm totally your girl" emoji here]).

So whenever I hunt for a cute, independent coffee shop/cafe, the final pick has to meet two requirements. 1) That they have amazing coffee and gluten free food (preferably cake, because cake is bae my life) and 2) It has to look nice and Instagrammable.

I kiiinda hate myself for admitting that but any blogger/Instagrammer that tells me that that isn't a consideration is pure and simply lying...

... or just has a life!

Either way, I trotted off to London Grind because I'd been following their dreamy Instagram for a while and could no longer hack their gorgeous food pictures and latte art without discovering it for myself.

London grind is part of the "Grind" chain, with cafe's in Shoreditch and Holborn and all of them are absolutely dreamy when it comes to interiors (you know, and food too... ) but London Grind immediately had me with the gorgeous mix of monochrome tiles, marble, wood - I'm aware this makes me sound like a basic bitch but a good quality chunky wood worktop makes me far happier than it should - the industrial/loft style ceilings and bulbs (yes I get excited about a good bulb, sue me) and rope lighting quotes. I was already a convert, and then I saw the menu...

London Grind's menu isn't huge, but I feel like it just covers all bases from fry ups to eggs, porridge to smoothie bowls, it really does have something for everyone (unless you're extremely fussy, in which case, we can't be friends*)

*Just kidding, but seriously, if you're with me you're going to need a huge appetite and be ready to eat the world!

After discussing gluten free options with the waiter, I decided on the One Pan eggs without the bread (always a killer to have to say "no bread please") and oh my goodness gracious me I was not disappointed. The One Pan eggs consists of fried eggs on a bed of spinach, tomatoes, beans and topped off with pistachio's. The flavours combined were absolutely delicious and I quite easily tucked every last mouthful away with ease. (Not because it wasn't filling, more because I'm a beast!). I especially love the pistachio topping which just added the tastiest crunch and finished it off perfectly.

Next time, the Gluten free Banana bread is on the cards!

My Dad went for the London Grind, the glamorous fry up if you will - he likes to go hard or go home too, like Father like Daughter - and absolutely demolished it. [Insert high five emoji here]. He absolutely loved the London Grind, specifically the homemade beans, Sausages and white pudding (basically all of it then...) and said he would highly recommend the dish.
My Mum opted for the Breakfast Focaccia and I must say, I had huge food envy when this arrived. The focaccia was so thick and generously filled with Bacon, sausage, mozzarella, eggs and aioli and she absolutely loved it. Delicious, tasty, amazing quality and gorgeous were just some of the descriptive words used in the minutes it took to chow down on this so it was a huge thumbs up from her too.

As is my life motto, I've just realised that I dived straight into the food without mentioning our drinks, and considering the quality of coffee London Grind has, that just won't do. My Dad and I went for a latte and I can honestly say, it was one of my absolute favourites. Gorgeously smooth and strong without being at all bitter. So lovely that I couldn't resist ordering another one post breakfast, subsequently being on the biggest caffeine high for the rest of the day (sorry not sorry). Mum went for a pot of tea and can we just talk about their stupidly cute pots and saucers? My pinterest-loving brain went a little bit crazy over those!

Basically, because I'm aware that I've bored you to death spoken very passionately about London Grind for a pretty long time now, everything we ate and drank was mouth wateringly good, and it's extremely safe to say that I'll be back very soon. Popping into Shoreditch Grind and Holborn Grind in the meantime no doubt.

I'd love to know if you've ever been to the Grind cafes? What's your all time favourite London coffee shop? I always love to hear your thoughts.

As always, thanks so much for reading!

xx
