ACCENTS OF BURGUNDY

I have professed many times before about my tendency to dress like a basic b*tch, and that's definitely not something that will be changing throughout 2016. You see, despite being Primark's biggest fan girl - more brutally known as a bit of a tight arse - I have decided that this year's fashion resolution won't be to invest in outlandish, rainbow coloured, more "out there" items; but to focus on beautiful quality pieces that work with everything and can be worn over and over again. And that's exactly what I'll be showing you today.

Said beautiful quality piece that goes with everything is the incredibly gorgeous Boden Annabel fit and flare dress*. It's black - no sh*t sherlock - it is made of the thickest, stretchiest most stunning material which just makes it feel so luxurious. Quality aside, I adore how this looks on. The fit and flare shape is so flattering on so many body shapes and it's just become one of those pieces that I refer to as "the perfect base" - you know, because I'm cool like that... - because it looks fab alone, but particularly lovely with items layered over the top. A firm favourite in my wardrobe and one that I definitely rely on very often (probably far too often but hey, if Kate Middleton can recycle outfits then why can't I, huh?). Because you're not a princess twat face
Next up we have a piece that "stole" my heart. *Tumbleweed.... * Let's just take a moment to appreciate just how awful that joke was. This faux fur stole was a piece that I found in the Dorothy Perkins sale and it's safe to say that I have fallen head over heels in love with. The gorgeous two tone burgundy - and err... lighter burgundy? - tones just bring such a richness to any outfit. It really is such a stunning piece to add a little somethin somethin to what would be a particularly boring AFbeige, vanilla neutral outfit. An absolute winter staple for sure.

Finally, the shoes that were christened BAE's at first sight (subsequently making me want to punch myself in the face for using the most annoying term in existence). This style of boot is definitely not new to me, in fact I own a pretty much identical pair from Linzi in brown and absolutely wear them to death... so when I saw these - in my favourite colour, no less - I knew they had to be mine. An absolutely gorgeous, shiny mock croc print in a warm, rich burgundy tone... I really hope you like them too because they will not be leaving my feet for the foreseeable future.
So that's it for my first OOTD/"Guys I'm in love with every single item and will bore you to death about them" post of 2016. I hope you are all having the most amazing start to the year. The work emails are slowly - well, actually quite rapidly - flowing back in after the Christmas break and whilst I know I need to be a bit kinder to myself and not take on too much, I have to say I am extremely excited for 2016. I think it's gonna be a gooden :)

As always, thanks so much for reading!

xx
