THE BEST OF BECCA COSMETICS

After receiving such a lovely response from my Urban Decay brand focus post, and thoroughly enjoying fan girling writing the post myself, I'm back today with another "Oh my god guys this brand is so bloody great and you need everything and sorry for your bank balance" type post. But seriously, today's brand is pretty darn special and I am so excited to share it with you.

So, let's talk about Becca Cosmetics. A brand that I've known about for years but has slightly gone under the radar for me. I knew they had "some kind of shimmery skin perfector that Sam from Pixiwoo loves" but I didn't know enough. After going for the most gorgeous Afternoon tea with the brand last October - eek, was it really that long ago? Slow down please, time! - and talking to the lovely PR's and Brand makeup artists, I got such an insight into just how incredible the brand is, so I'm so excited to bore you all to death/fan girl/rave/stalk tell you about the best of Becca!

I'm usually one for saving the best til last. I'm also usually one for being more impatient than a 2 year old so we're kicking off with the big guns today. This palette, in short, is a highlight and contour palette. It contains the most stunning velvety smooth, almost creamy highlight shade that looks very natural but can also be built up for a more nighttime look too. Alongside this is the most perfect contour shade that's not too ashy, not too orange and is dark enough to make a real difference, i.e turns you from looking like a potato into Cheryl Cole (kinda... well, not really, but still... ) It's just absolutely stunning and due to the tones and quality of the powders, really is the perfect contour duo.

Now this product really is special (Yep, I'm referring to a primer as special. What you saying about my priorities, huh?) But in all seriousness, the Backlight primer is said to act as an instant filter, creating a diffused, soft focus radiance that blurs imperfections and allows your skin to catch the light in the most gorgeous way. And you know what? I have to say that it does all of those things. Firstly, it really does extend the wear of my foundations helping it to the last throughout the majority of the day. It also just gives the most stunning but natural glow to the skin that makes you look as if you've eaten your 5 a day (10x over) and drunk all the water in the world. Healthy, glowing, lit from within skin... I'll take that!

Ok, first things first, you are forgiven for thinking that you would never use this blush if your life depended on it, that's exactly what I thought when I noticed how scarily neon looking it was in the pan. However, this blush ladies - and guys - when dipped once into the pan and then still tapped off a bajillion times, creates the most stunning, natural "I've just been outside in the cold walking my non-existent dog" kinda glow that just looks so fresh all year round. Honestly, this has become an essential in my makeup bag now.

I was introduced to a lot of these Becca products at the most stunning Afternoon tea at The Langham hotel - a whole other Pinterest-worthy story which I'll no doubt review at a later date - and I have to say, this palette was one that I went a little crazy for when it was put out next to my gluten free salmon belini's and cakes and all things good in the world (Oh god, I've got myself started on cakes now #TheSlothNextDoor) But seriously, from the get go this was on my "I think it might be love" list and believe me, it still is now. The ombre rouge palette is the most stunning mix of (predominantly) warm toned and some cool toned matte neutrals. Now, they are matte, but I have to say I detect the very slightest sheen to them which just makes them apply so gorgeously and look even more natural. The palette, much like Becca as whole, is made to sculpt and enhance what you already have and I love that about this palette. I honestly don't think anyone could dislike, the most versatile/"works for everyone and any occasion" product.

Prior to using this brow product, I was a Makeup Revolution Brow arch addict that was stuck in the crayon comfort zone. As someone who has the "brows on fleek" skills of a two year old, the thought of using a mousse was one that terrified me - I mean, slight exaggeration but still, I thought I'd be awful with it - but oh my goodness am I the biggest convert. So, the shadow and light brow contour works by having a gorgeous mousse consistent to shape, fill in the brows etc. and the most stunning creamy iridescent pink cream that works as a brow highlight. Both products paired together result in perfectly sculpted but natural brows and I seriously can't get enough. I'm not sure it's possible for my brows to be "on fleek" but they are as fleek as my brows could possibly get.

P.S I 100% hate myself just as much - scrap that, 10x more - than you for using the word "fleek" in a blog post, I promise to never do it again!

And that brings me to the end of my "Best of Becca" edit. I have to say, Becca are one of those brands that really can do no wrong. No dud products, no products that are slightly pointless... everything works to naturally enhance what you have in the most stunning way. But these are my bae's top 5 favourites.

I would love to know what your favourite products from Becca Cosmetics are or if you've ever tried the brand before? Any new recommendations? I would love to hear your thoughts :)

As always, thanks so much for reading!

xx
