DUCK AND WAFFLE

One major perk of being a full time blogger, is being able to work on what you want - well, to a degree - exactly when you want. So when my friend Becca messaged and asked/said "we need to have Duck and Waffle, now!" that we should go for brunch at Duck and Waffle, I replied with the speediest "Yes" in existence.

Followed by all the egg in frying pan and duck emoji's, obviously...

So off we headed to Heron Tower, to the lift of doom glass lift that gives you the most stunning views on the way up (but also makes you feel slightly sick at the same time, definitely not one for those with a height phobia) and entered dreamy decor heaven.

Said dreamy decor heaven...
We started by chilling in the bar area with a latte - coffee before anything else, always - which was decorated to Christmas perfection. I really loved just sitting and chatting in this area before going through to the restaurant and would actually highly recommend doing just this if you wasn't in the mood for food.
Once we'd demolished our drinks and finally stopped "ooh-ing and ahh-ing" over the views (and taking all the Instagram snaps) it was time to head through to the main restaurant where the view only gets even better.
I like a good scenery snap, sue me... ;)

And then it was time for food. And then it was time for all the joy in the world. And then it was time for the food coma.

It was a good day!
As you can see, the menu is anything but just Duck and waffle so for anyone that isn't the biggest fan, you'll still be spoilt for choice. At this point I inquired about the gluten free options and was absolutely over the moon to discover that they could make the Duck and waffle gluten free so of course I went for that - basic bitch - option.
Views and dreamy decor aside, this is where things got real good. The waffle, despite being gluten free, was extremely tasty, really soft and chewy and not spongey or dry at all. The fried egg, well... it was a fried egg. It tasted amazing and that's pretty much all that can be said right? (Unless you're a food critic and want to use all the fancy words in the world to describe a fried egg of course [insert monkey covering mouth emoji here]) But the duck, oh my goodness the Crispy leg confit of duck was so incredibly tasty. Full of flavour and falling off the bone, I honestly could've eaten this meal twice #TheBeastNextDoor. Topped off with the mustard maple syrup, it really was a flavour combination that I've been drooling over ever since!
So that brings me to the end of my absolute rave review. I have to say, apart from the dreamy food, my favourite thing about Duck and waffle is just the atmosphere. It's so incredibly calming and relaxing way up there, and you can't help but have a quiet moment to yourself, taking the world in. I'm already planning my 5am Sunrise breakfast return[insert heart eye'd emojis here].

As always, thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
