It's funny isn't it, jewellery, in the grand scheme of an outfit, is more often the smallest component of a look and yet I always find that it can make the biggest statement. On a day to day basis, I tend to describe my style as boring, beige, dull, snooze-worthy simple and minimalistic, so it's only natural that when it comes to party season I still gravitate towards a more basic outfit. However, rocking up to your Christmas do - Christmas "do", clearly I went to sleep in a time machine and morphed into an 80 year old overnight - in jeans, a tee and court shoes when everybody is going all glitter ehhrthing isn't really going to cut it. And that, that ladies, is when you bring out your statement jewellery to take you from drab to fab, bleak to "on fleek" and all those other phrases that make me want to vom at the level of cheesiness in equal measures.
So, it's the festive party season and you know you need to up your game. The problem is, no one piece of jewellery is going to work perfectly for every occasion, and you're also so busy christmas shopping and stuffing your face with quality street that you don't have time to go searching for the perfect piece for every occasion, and this is where Gemporia steps in. Gemporia are a really, really lovely company that not only believe that beautiful jewellery shouldn't cost the earth, but also that it shouldn't be mass produced or run of the mill - for me, this always makes wearing their pieces feel really special - which is why they only use genuine gemstones and precious metals. For me, Gemporia is just a one stop shop because it has everything that you could possibly wish for. Because of their use of the most gorgeous and most extensive range of gemstones it really does have something for everyone (including every colour gem you could dream of). So when looking in my diary - yep, I am totally a handwritten diary kinda girl [insert granny emoji here] - and realising I had a Christmas dinner and drinks, a festive coffee date with the girls and an afternoon tea with my Mum, I knew exactly where I was heading to pick out the perfect pieces to accompany my - no doubt, simple - looks. In fact, I loved so many items (i.e the biggest nightmare for a spendaholic/the most indecisive person in the world) that I've put together a little edit with Gemporia featuring a whole host of pieces that I am obsessed with, which you can find here [Insert all the heart eye'd emoji's here].
Christmas dinner and drinks
My first festive engagement - now
that sentence officially made me feel like an adult - was dinner and drinks with my other half and our friends in a beautiful, quite magical venue. I knew that I wanted to go for a simple (but extremely festive) emerald green blouse and jeans so I wanted a beautiful necklace to flatter the v-neck cut. I also wanted another piece to compliment my Topshop midi heels - which I'm
still obsessed with months on - and when I saw the
Thai Ruby and white topaz gold vermeil ring from Gemporia, I knew that this was
the one. An absolutely stunning ruby stone -
perfect for Christmas time - which is more subtle than a big cocktail ring but equally beautiful enough to make a statement.

The final piece to finish off my "I'm going out and need to make an effort without dressing like a Christmas bauble" look is this absolutely beautiful
Rhodolite garnet and white topaz sterling silver necklace. For me, green and red just screams Christmas so I was looking for a necklace that would work perfectly for this H&M v-neck blouse, that would be beautifully festive, but actually quite subtle too - beautiful but subtle, I'm clearly developing a theme here - and this necklace fits the bill perfectly. A wonderful mix of rhodolite garnet, white topaz and silver, this is the perfect festive piece that I really think takes a look from day to night.
The festive Coffee date with the girls

It's the party season, you have a to-do list longer than Kim Kardashian's list of marriages, Christmas parties coming out of your ears and you have absolutely zero time for
anything - can you tell that Christmas time is extremely busy and stressful for a blogger? - but of course you still want to catch up with all of your girl friends, so sometimes a quick and cosy festive coffee is the only option. Now, obviously you don't want to be sipping your Toffee nut latte in a mini dress and heels (I mean, you
might do, and all power to you if you do... but I think my local barista's would probably think it was a
little too much!) and this is where I absolutely
love dressing up a casual day look with some stunning jewellery. My first option is the most
breathtakingly beautiful pair of drop earrings. Made of
9K gold and 2.76ct mawi kunzite and I have to say, I completely fell in love with them at first sight. What I love about these is that they're so effortless but make
such a difference to a look (especially when you have greasy hair and need to tie it back, which obviously I'm using as an example and that totally isn't the case here [insert guilty face emoji here]). A gorgeous gold and lilac toned pair of earrings which have become my go to jewellery pick for when I'm going for a girlier, glam look.

Seeing as the earrings are a little more statement - but I still wanted to add another piece of jewellery because
yolo it's Christmas - I opted for a subtle and simple (but absolutely beautiful*)
rose gold stacking ring. With a stunning wishbone shape and diamond cut finish, I actually haven't taken this off since I received it. So yes, it is the perfect accompaniment to a more statement cocktail ring or for the gorgeous earrings above, but it also looks fab on it's own too and has quickly become a "wear all day, ehhrday" piece. I.e I hope you like it because I won't be taking it off for the nexy 2/3 years to come.
*I really should've looked up some alternatives for the phrase "beautiful", shouldn't I? The cons of having the descriptive skills of a 2 year old...
Afternoon tea with your Mum
You've had your Christmas party, you've gossiped about boys, X-Factor, holidays
and boys over your umpteen Christmas latte's and now it's time for a festive afternoon tea. I headed to the absolutely magical
Park Tower hotel in Knightsbridge with my Mum last week and whilst I obviously knew that I needed to make an effort - christmas jumpers and Victoria's secret pyjamas wouldn't have cut it apparently - I also was going shopping afterwards and didn't want to be
too dressed up. So with my relatively casual
preppy dress (from Primark because Primark forever) I decided to pair it with probably my most stand out piece in the form of this ridiculously gorgeous
Black spinel sterling silver bracelet. Featuring sterling silver and 40.57cts of Black Spinel from Thailand, this is the piece that for me, really makes me feel just
so glamorous and put together and one that doesn't need anything else... the bracelet is just a beautiful statement in itself.

So that brings me to the end of my jewellery edit. As you will no doubt have been able to tell from my completely ridiculous usage of the words "beautiful" "stunning" and "perfect" I am genuienly in love with every piece so I hope you love them just as much. If you do, I have the best news [insert party popper emoji here] using the Code: BLOG30 you can receive 30% off until the end of December. *Drops all commitments and spends the next 4 hours ordering all the Rubies and Topaz*.
What's your go-to Chrsitmas Jewellery piece? Will you be treating yourself to anything from Gemporia for Christmas this year? I'd love to hear your thoughts :)
As always, thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
