So, it's currently Christmas Eve. I have a to-do list longer than Kylie Jenner's surgery archive - [insert guilty/"but you totally know it's true" emoji here], I'm preparing for the last influx of Vlogmas video's (before the impending death of my life #VlogmasOverEverything) and generally just don't feel very festive at all. Which is why I just had to post this post today.
A few weeks back now, I was invited to Winter Wonderland by the wonderful
Farfetch. I chucked on the fluffiest, cosiest, most wintery coat I could find, my
stunningly beautiful Alexander McQueen scarf from Farfetch and basically just prepared myself for
all of the hot chocolate/mulled wine/rides/
screaming kids/[insert your own choice of festive activity here].
Amongst the amazing Farfetch girls and bloggers - that by the end of the day I'd felt like I'd known for years - we were also joined by an incredible photographer named Tommy who took all of the incredibly dreamy photo's in this post today so do make sure you go over and check out
his site, if you're a photography fan, you will not regret it!
Enough photographer fan-girling, it's time to get festive!
After meeting the girls and getting to know each other - i.e swapping Instagram/Twitter handles - we wandered the park before settling on a diner for some cheesy chips and drinks (nutritional goodness it was
not, ridiculously delicious, it
was). Our Winter Wonderland trip fell in the middle of Vlogmas so you can check out all the goings on
here if you wish. Amongst demolishing chips and vlogging the pretty carousels, we prepared ourselves for the magical ice kingdom which realistically,
nothing could prepare us for.
The Magical ice Kingdom. Stunningly beautiful? Yes. So freezing cold that you almost feel like you're fingers are about to drop off? Yeah, that too... But despite the impending frostbite, the ice sculptures really were incredibly beautiful and so clever. I'd highly recommend checking it out, but only if you've got on all the layers in the world and are still prepared to be cold!
After wandering the Magical ice kingdom, then receiving hand warmers on the way out (yep, it was that cold) we then headed over to the ferris wheel. With a quick pit stop for all of the selfies and Instagram photo's, obviously...
The Ferris wheel - or "the big wheel" as I so eloquently kept calling it - was so much fun. Not only do you see Winter Wonderland at it's finest, but you also get the most incredible view of London. It's one of those places that I could have happily sat and stayed there for a long time (... but I didn't because there was more hot chocolate to be had and selfies to be taken).
Finally, after watching the beautiful Camilla and Sarah Ice skate - I am definitely a "watch people fall from the sidelines" kinda ice skater - we found a quiet corner of Hyde Park to snap our outfits with Tommy.
So that brings me to the end of this "I don't feel festive enough yet so I'm going to shove all of the festive photo's in your face in the hope that it makes us all feel like Buddy the elf" post. I have to say, I had so much fun with the most amazing ladies and it was honestly such a novelty to not have to take my camera along, to just enjoy the day and leave the photography to somebody else. I absolutely loved every shot but mostly I just loved the candid shots that were captured. It made me realise that a) I spend 99.9% of my life laughing and b) I have the ugliest laugh face in existence but I still think happiest girls are the prettiest girls.
As this will be my last post before Christmas itself, I hope you all have the most incredible day whatever you're doing and whoever you're with. Eat everything in sight, laugh until you cry and appreciate everyone around you. Merry Christmas!
xx
