Huge confession alert; Gossip Girl is pretty much what I live my life by. I'd love to say that I'm sorry, but... I'm not (Well, I kinda am sorry to myself for being such a loser, but still... ) I live by the well known, philosophical phrase "What would Blair Waldorf do?", practically stalk the living daylights out of Blake Lively (otherwise known as Serena, otherwise known as BAE queen) and generally just pretend wish that I was an upper east-sider.
The other thing that I have it to thank for is the fact that I knew when I visited NYC this time, I had to experience Brooklyn. The cool coffee shops, the art galleries, the Brooklyn bridge itself, not to mention the views of Manhattan from Brooklyn. And let's be totally, totally honest here... going hunting for Dan Humphrey.
It was always going to happen....
So, camera and fiance - i.e my resident photographer and the poor sod that held our beastly camera and bags the whole time #keeper - in tow, I headed off to Brooklyn to explore... and find the infamous spot in front of the Manhattan bridge.
Outfit wise, I relied on some basics that have been my go to recently. The first being my khaki - very Kimmy K style - coat that I have worn pretty much constantly for the last few months. Blogging friends, family and pretty much everybody within my vicinity will be able to vouch for the fact that this has not left my back, and I think that's because it just makes you feel effortlessly chic. Not only is it ridiculously comfortable, warm and cosy, but it also instantly makes you look a little bit more put together which I am very thankful for when rushing to a meeting at 8am in the morning.
Then we have a cream turtleneck from New Look (a few seasons back now, hence why I've linked similar options below) which I think will always be my go to throughout the colder months. Paired with my Primark pleather skater skirt and Clarks silver boots - which proved just as popular in NYC as they are in London - and there we have my "Can you tell me where Dan and Rufus Humphrey are please?" exploring look.

I have to take a moment for this little area of Brooklyn. Not far from the Brooklyn bridge is this spot right here which gives you the most perfect view looking back over at Manhattan and I loved chilling here for a few moments taking everything in and just reflecting a little (clearly the Brooklyn breeze had made me all artsy and thoughtful). If you do visit NYC, I would highly recommend taking a couple of hours out of your schedule to get the subway over to Brooklyn, have a little wander and find this spot, then stroll back over the bridge to Manhattan. It was definitely one of my favourite things to do.
And that brings me to the end of this post. If you couldn't tell by my consistent fangirling, Brooklyn has a special place in my heart, and as completely ridiculously and superficial as it sounds... so does this god damn lovely coat. Any item of clothing that I can wear constantly for months and still not be bored of deserves all the thumbs up/heart eye'd/clapping/hallelujah hands up emoji's in the world!
If you have any favourite spots in Brooklyn, please do let me know. I'll definitely be exploring it more when I return to NYC soon (... as soon as I can get away with booking flights without my accountant giving me all the evils in the world).
As always, thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
