DOING THE PREPPY THING

I don't "do" preppy very often. You see, preppy for me reminds me of that Taylor Swift/School boy cool vibe, and whilst I will proudly admit to prancing around to Blank Space, sassy hand movements in tow... cool, I am not. But when I saw this preppy, peter pan collar dress in the mothership Primark for an absolute steal at £12 - that might be a guess so don't quote me on that - I couldn't not welcome it into my wardrobe.

These photo's were actually taken around a month ago now before heading to the launch of Fleur De Force's beauty range and I can honestly say, I don't think I've ever received so many compliments about an outfit and bearing in mind that 99.9% of the attendees were bloggers and Youtuber's... You did well Primark, you did well [insert hand clapping emoji here].
What I love about the dress is that it's so versatile. You could easily pair this with tights and boots/flats for a more casual look, or alongside heels - as un-gracefully modelled above - and a smarter bag for a more dressed up look. Being the tight arse thrifty being that I am, this makes me very happy.
Said shoes that I paired alongside my "Love ya, never wanna take you off" dress are a purchase from Dorothy Perkins that I made over a year ago now and they are easily one of my most worn pairs of shoes. A classic shape combined with the perfect block heel that's tall enough to give you the added lift, without making us giants taller ladies feel like The Hulk.
My bag was the classic "I can't afford Chanel so a padded, furry alternative will do" purchase from Zara that I still love and find useful. And my face? Well, that was my "I've had 3 hours sleep, I have a video to edit and fashion week starts tomorrow, FML!" expression that definitely isn't that rare these days.

So that brings me to the end of this post. It was such a shame that I couldn't get more photo's from Fleur's launch as it was such a beautiful venue and amazing night, but the lighting was very dark and if I'm being totally honest? I had far too much fun chatting to so many Youtubers/Bloggers that I hadn't seen for a while or had never met before but had watched for years... for once I decided to live in the moment rather than through a camera.

I hope you liked the look, what are your thoughts on the preppy trend? Is it for you, or are you leaving it for Taylor to rock? I'd love to know your thoughts.

As always, thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
