JO MALONE MIMOSA AND CARDAMOM

Jo malone mimosa and cardamom
It's not very often that I post a review of a singular product, and it's even more uncommon that that review will be about a perfume. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love perfume, it's the quickest way to give yourself a little lift, freshen up and sometimes it just completely changes your mood... and yet, I'm always a little bit reluctant in case you find it, I don't know, a little... boring.

This time however, I have been manically planning a way to try and squeeze this review into my content schedule - Yep, I am that anal blogger that needs to schedule content ideas just to feel like they have their shit life together - and I am so excited to share it with you because it has easily, within just a few weeks, become one of my all time favourite scents. Perfect for any time of year (but especially Autumn in my opinion) and one that really is quite unique, today's post is all about my love affair with Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom*.

Because I am absolutely awful at describing scents, I'll start by telling you what Jo - we're on first name terms, obvs - has to say about it.

And then I'll jump in with my descriptive skills to rival a 4 year old's and give you my 2 pence worth.

"A new Bohemia awaits. Mists of honeyed, golden mimosa float above the spiciness of freshly crushed cardamom. Creamy tonka and smooth sandalwood woven under powdery heliotrope and Damask rose picked at dawn. Warm, ethereal, mesmerising."

Top Note: Cardamom
This cool spice has hints of lemon and adds effervescent contrast to the warm floral heart.

Heart Note: Mimosa
Powdery mimosa adds a honeyed and warm floral character illuminating the heart of the fragrance.

Base Note: Tonka bean
Tonka bean is wonderfully warm with accents of almond, vanilla and aromatic tobacco, adding tangible richness to the fragrance."

So there's all the technical jargon, and here's what I think... it's bloody lovely.

Just kidding.

I mean, I'm not, but I do actually have more to say than that. When I met with one of the lovely PR's from Jo Malone she described this to me as a floriental - floral and oriental - fragrance and I would say it is exactly that. When you first smell it on the skin, you're immediately met with the more floral notes which creates such a natural, non-offensive, feminie scent. After a few seconds however, the spiciness of the cardamom comes through which I absolutely adore. It really just amps up the sexiness of the fragrance and the combination of both feminine florals and spicy sexiness really makes it so perfect for every occasion.

Whether that occasion be to something fashionable and chic, like fashion week...

... it really is perfect for any - and every - occasion.

As with all Jo Malone fragrances - I reviewed Wood sage and sea salt here - they last for so long on the skin which I love because there's nothing worse than it wearing off after a couple of hours (ain't nobody got time for that...) and just generally feel so luxurious. Jo Malone, for me, are one of those brands that just make you feel good, and whilst they are definitely not the cheapest brand in the world, they are one of very few that I think are totally worth splashing out on.

Next on my lust list? The peony and blush suede candle [insert praying - which is really meant to be a high five but praying FTW - emoji here]

I would love to know if you've tried the Mimosa and Cardamom fragrance? What is your favourite Jo Malone perfume? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!

xx
