If you couldn't tell by the screamingly obvious title - because I'm a well behaved blogger and disclose things [insert "yo girl, tell people this is sponsored" face emoji here] - this is a sponsored post. Which, if i'm being totally honest, kinda makes me a little sad, and here's why. There is a tendency to assume that sponsored work = a warped opinion, and this is sad because today's post is one that not only am I really passionate about, but it also contains bloody brilliant products that I highly recommend.
So why am I passionate about a makeup post? because you're a superficial twat Well, this post, is based around products that really do produce the most flawless base, which is fantastic. No really, when I'm off to an event, or a meeting (especially with a skincare/beauty brand) and I want my skin to look it's best, it's perfect. However, as I've got older [insert "hysterically crying face" emoji here] I've realised that a part of happiness is about being content. And a part of being content is accepting your imperfections.
So in short, whilst these products are absolutely incredible at covering flaws, embracing them first is far more important.
Left side - no foundation / Right side - with Vichy Dermablend foundation
Starting with the foundation. Typically, my skin - which is generally blemish free but of course decided to have a reaction to a skincare product, hence the mini breakout on my cheeks - has some redness around the nose, pigmentation under my eyes, ridiculously dark circles and bags (which are definitely not Chanel). As you can see from the before and after, Vichy Dermablend foundation has completely evened out my skin tone and covered pretty much every flaw. What I absolutely love about this though is the it still manages to look natural. It has a beautiful texture/finish, matte but luminous and with SPF 35, no parabens and completely hypoallergenic ingredients, it's perfect for those looking for a full coverage foundation or those with acne.
Left side - no concealer / Right eye with Vichy Dermablend concealer
Whilst the foundation is something that I'll save for special occasions, Vichy's Corrector stick certainly is something that I'll use on a daily basis. It has a really creamy texture which is perfect for blending the product in seamlessly. It also means that it covers blemishes perfectly without making the skin look cakey. Because it is so full coverage, it does a fab job at covering under eye darkness although you do have to set it well or it will crease quite badly. Overall, it's by far the best concealer that I've discovered as of yet for blemishes and one that I would very highly recommend.
Finally, to set everything in place we have Vichy's setting powder. An extremely finely milled loose powder that is undetectable on the skin and sets everything into place perfectly. It mattifies without flattening the face (which is important for me as I need all of the definition I can get) and is great for all skin types. Also, this powder, paired with Crown brush Stippling brush is a match made in heaven!
So that brings my flawless base post to an end, I would absolutely love to know what your go-to products are for a flawless base? Any product recommendations for me? Also, because I am well aware that my makeup application is slightly shoddy, check out the Vichy Dermablend advert below to the see products in action :)
As always, thanks so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
