THE MAN REPELLER

The Man Repeller. Now, for any of you seasoned blog readers - or bloggers - out there, you may be under the impression that this blog post is about the infamous blogger/website "Man Repeller". I mean, I hope it is because if it isn't, it'll literally be about an outfit that repels men.

Oh, hold on a second... Well, that's awkward...

Jokes aside, this is a post about an outfit that only a few months ago, I never ever - shall we just add in another 'ever' in there for dramatisation? Ever! - thought I'd even like, let alone wear. It's very tom boy-esque, it's quite androgynous/masculine* and it was basically born from one too many Pinterest sessions, obsessing over the Blogger x Nike Roshe run trend.

*We all know masculine is a polite way of saying that I look like a geezer bird. Geezer bird chic is in though, right? Oh it is, well that's great to hear!

So, from the remarks from Dan/my brother/any other man in my family that clearly have no qualms in offending my sartorial choices, this isn't really what men find that sexy or stylish. Well it's a good bloody job I dress for Instagram myself then isn't it...

So, the pinstripe trousers. As much as I always thought they looked incredible on everyone else, I really wasn't feeling them for me (i.e I had no idea how to style them and don't need any help on the looking like a bloke front). However, after finding these in Dorothy Perkins a while back and purchasing them for an interview... a love affair with tailored, pin stripe trousers has begun. They're just so sophisticated and paired with the right look - a nice girly blouse and some pretty heels, the total opposite to what I went for forever a geezer bird - I think they're so effortlessly chic.

So this brings me to the end of this "Yo, I'm a girl, but sometimes I like to dress up like a 12 year old school boy" post. I've actually really enjoyed branching out with my style lately, maybe it's an age thing - jesus, that's depressing - or maybe it's a "screw it, who cares what anyone else thinks thing"... either way, tom boy chic is something that will linger in my wardrobe (and all over my blog/instagram/wherever else I publicly expose myself) for a very long time.

I would love to know what your thoughts are on the androgynous/masculine trend? Are pinstripe trousers for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
