As I mentioned above, I was totally unfussy when it comes to Shampoo and conditioner. I really like Aussie as a brand, Richard Ward's Chelsea range is lovely too. I also
love Kerastase and Moroccan Oil (but,
ain't nobody got $ for that all the time) so I was a bit of a floozy - floozy? oh hey Granny next door - and flitted between a mixture of them all. However, ever since I tried out
Bumble and Bumble's Surf shampoo and
conditioner, this
totally changed. It claims to give you buoyant body and a seabreazy texture and I would say it does
exactly that. It manages to give my hair some volume and body whilst keeping it silky soft and nourished, but not weighed down
at all. It really does just feel so light and weightless, add in the fact that it smells beautiful and there you have my perfect shampoo and conditioner. It
is expensive, much more than I ever thought I'd pay but this is totally worth it in my - not very noteworthy - opinion.
Masks
I only have one mask favourite at the moment and that's Schwarzkopf's Essence Ultime. It's funny because I remember reading a review saying that it was just quite basic, but I have to totally disagree with that. It's extremely thick and very creamy, it smells incredible and I just feel like you can feel the luxuriousness from the second that you put it on your hair. Wash out after a few minutes and my hair is honestly as soft as when I use much more expensive masks by the likes of Moroccan oil/Macadamia etc. You go Glen Coco Schwarzkopf.
Styling products
I have thick, slightly wavy hair that can get frizzy but struggles to hold a style - yeah, god
really did a number on me - so styling products are a bit of a lifesaver for my unruly hair. On a day to day basis, I opt for a loose wave and the one product that has become my "without this I would be Hermione's identical hair twin" saviour is
Got 2 B's All star 10 in 1. I am absolutely in
love with this because it really is a 10 in 1, does it all product
for a lazy cow like me. It helps keep a style for longer, protects against humidity
and heat styling, gives shine and so much more. If I'm opting for straight hair, I'll give a spritz of
Got 2 B's Mind blowing styling spray which is a total wonder product and really does cut the drying time down to nothing (
well, obviously not
nothing, but significantly shorter). My final style is my "Am I Blake Lively/Tasha Oakley/[insert your own beach babe here] yet?" beachy waves. To achieve this, I wash my hair as usual, then spray a generous amount of
Bumble and bumble's surf spray throughout my hair, plait it, leave overnight and ta dah... laid back, beachy, effortless waves. The surf spray is incredible for giving it extra texture and hold without letting it go frizzy/Hagrid-like which it
definitely would without it.
Finishing products
Disclaimer: I am about to rave about a hair product like there's no tomorrow and I'm not even sorry about. [insert sassy girl hand emoji here]. My holy grail finishing product until the last couple of weeks was always Charles Worthington's Volume and bounce texturising spray. And then I discovered Bumble and Bumble Dryspun finish and it has totally, totally wiped the floor with it. It instantly gives volume, texture and fullness but the difference between this and the CW spray is that this is weightless, it's dry - you literally cannot even notice it in your hair - it's just keeps everything in place whilst adding gorgeous texture. All the love in the world for this. All...
Once my hair is "done", I love running some oil through the ends to keep it in good condition and nice and shiny and my favourite oil at the moment is
Got 2 B's Oil-liscious. It really nourishes your hair and leaves it super shiny. Plus - and I would be a liar if I said this wasn't the winning factor - it smells of watermelon. I rest my case!
The Pick me ups
Despite finally finding a routine and products that I don't ever want to be without, I have to admit that washing my hair is a
chore for me so I try to go as long as I possibly can - #TrampOfTheYear - without doing it. I don't particularly have a dry shampoo favourite but I have been enjoying
Herbal Essences Dry shampoo which I find works best left overnight and Bumble and bumble's Pret a powder which is brilliant for adding a bit of volume to the roots and mopping up some grease (
sexy times...). I do feel like I'm never
really going to find a dry shampoo that I fall in love with. I just find that the ones that really take away the greasiness (
forever sexy) leave the dreaded white film on the hair. Any suggestions are very welcome!
So that's it for my hair care routine/overly dramatic "can't live without" post. I have to say, discovering these products has definitely made me appreciate and look after my hair a little more. And whilst I won't be rivalling the locks of the Victoria's Secret's models any time soon, I am looking ever so slightly less Hagrid-esque. And as Tesco say,
every little helps...
I would absolutely love to know what your favourite hair care products are? Any brands I need to try out? I would love to hear your thoughts :)
As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
