I would like to think that I'm known for being quite a brutal blunt honest person when it comes to this blog. Not in a bitchy way - ain't nobody got time for that... - at all, but I just like to keep my readers (oh hey Mum, looking at you over there!) well informed and keep some integrity in what is starting to become a slightly non-transparent world.
So I have to be totally honest, when Superdry started to "get big" - i.e all the cool kids started wearing it - a few years back, I'd never really considered it for my own wardrobe. I always kinda' just assumed that it was more up teenage boys/young girls' street and not my (very exclusive) Primark, primark and more primark avenue. Time to eat humble pie because this assumption couldn't have been any more wrong. Yes, if you're looking for cool beach wear - flip flops, beach bags, bikini's, shorts, [insert your own choice of beachwear item here] - then Superdry is for you. However if you're also looking for beautiful maxi/summer dresses, stunning sequinned skirts and sunglasses to put Rayban to shame... then Superdry has your name all over it too.
Today's post isn't just any old outfit post it's an M&S post but more of a homage to Superdry for creating the perfect maxi dress for any occasion.
Dress that I am beyond obsessed with and won't leave my body - bar washing it of course #NoScrubs - all summer: Superdry*
Fringe, suede bag: Matalan (old but similar here)
Gladiator sandals: Linzi
My favourite way of wearing this dress is the slightly dressier option. The gorgeous halter-esque/mermaid/nipped in at the waist cut, paired with some grecian sandals and a fringe bag makes the perfect summer evening outfit. Chic, sophisticated but effortless... the perfect "No, I haven't tried hard at all, LOL JK... I've been getting ready for the last 5 hours but you wouldn't have guessed it" look. I am all about that bass look.
That same dress that I am more obsessed with than Kanye is with Kanye: Superdry*
Denim top: Shop Style
Trainers: Converse
Bag: Superdry*
On the other hand, whilst I love looking sophisticated and put together (because if you can't be it, you may as well look it) I've also equally loved pairing this gorgeous dress down for a much more day time, casual but cool look. We all know that Converse are the eptiome of casual cool and luckily for me, they only look better with dirt age (Right? Right?...) so I've really been enjoying wearing them alongside my "does it all" Superdry maxi that I've totally fallen head over heels for.
To finish off this casual cool look - is it even possible to say the phrase "casual cool" any more than I already have?... casual cool - I paired it with Superdry's Mini alumni bag which I've also fallen in love with. The mini is the perfect size as it fits all of my essentials (aka 20 almost identical pink lipsticks) without being too large and heavy to lug around with you in the hot weather. Perfect for summer!
These Superdry Mirrored aviator glasses* which have quickly become the new love of my life - soz future husband - are also beyond perfect as the classic aviator shape and stunning red/orange lens works so well for a dressier and casual look, making it totally OK to never take these off of my face.
So that brings my little #SuperdrySummer/"OMG girls I've found the perfect maxi, bag and dress now go and buy it all" rave to an end. I really have been so incredibly impressed with
Superdry's holiday shop and just their clothing line in general. If I had to sum it up in three words, they would be; chic, cool and effortless. And I am all for having those three things in my wardrobe!
I would love to know what your thoughts on Superdry are? Anything you've purchased recently that you've fallen in love with? What has been your favourite Summer shop this year? I would love to hear your thought :)
As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
