BUTTON DOWNS, LACE UPS AND SMASHBOX FIREBALL

button down denim skirt
I can honestly say, I don't think that there is a single outfit I've blogged about that I've not really enjoyed wearing - you know, barring those from nigh on 3 years ago when skull scarves and the khaki/pleather combo coats were all the rage [insert cringe/"did I really?" emoji here] - but there are just some outfits that I really, really love wearing. They're my comfort zone, I feel most confident in them and I know I'll love them forever.

... And I won't look back in 3 years time and think "what the fuck hell was I thinking even wearing this, let alone blogging about it?"

Today's outfit is one of the aforementioned "timeless (in my eyes)" outfits that I will always go back to, wear each individual item a bijillion - totally a word, right? - times and will never tire of.

Said outfit.

#ArseShot
Not one to save the best for last, I'm going right in with what has already - as in, I only received it two weeks ago - become my most worn item this summer. This button down skirt* by Celeb Look is exactly what I'd been looking for for months now and it came at exactly the right time. It's the perfect length; not too "here's my arse fella's" short but it's also not too long and restricting. I wore it in my latest video which was a Summer Lookbook video (I'll link/embed that below so you can see it in action) and it got so many lovely comments.

The off shoulder top is one that I rely on (far too) often. There's something about a bare décolletage - ooh er - that just makes me feel good. This one from Primark provokes the biggest "should've got it in every colour" regrets for me because I've worn it to death and I just know that I'll continue to do so.
lace up shoes
Those lace ups. I featured these a little while ago now - further terrifying proof that time really is flying by - and I still love them just as much as I did then. They're that perfect "Dressier than a normal flat, but without the heel" shoe and I am all for those.

In a complete and utter contradiction to the theme of this post - i.e comfort zones, wear all day ehhr day things - the lipstick that I've gone for today is totally, totally out of my comfort zone. You see, I don't really wear red lipstick. At all. I just don't feel like I've found one that totally suits me and if I'm being really honest, I just prefer nude pinks on me. However, Smashbox Fireball came into my life recently and I just thought it was the perfect lip to go alongside this plain, boring, snoozeworthy, monochromatic outfit. A bright, matte orange toned red lip, it sits so comfortably on the skin, lasts for hours and whilst I still don't feel totally confident with a red lip, it does give me all those sassy vibes.

And I am all for those sassy vibes...

So, before I use the phrase "sassy" far more times than is really acceptable, I'll wrap this post up here. In short, button down skirts, lace up heels and off shoulder tops are 100% for me. Red lips on the other hand, are probably not. But hey, we all need to feel just one step closer to being Taylor Swift at times, right? Right... ;)

As always, thank you so much for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post!
